The design is inspired by astronomical principles and evokes the sensation of orbital motion. Each of the three main shapes of the building – the Oculus, the Inverted Dome, and the Sphere.

The Heydar Aliyev Center is a flowing form that comes from the folding of the landscape’s natural topography and the wrapping of specific Center activities. This flowing design allows for the connection of numerous cultural venues while also providing each part of the Center with its own identity and seclusion. The skin erodes away as it folds inside, becoming part of the Center’s interior landscape. The Museo Soumaya is a private museum and a non-profit cultural organization in Mexico City. This museum explores the role of art and culture in human life and includes art by such luminaries as the French sculptor Rodin. It houses around 66,000 works of art, as well as Mexican art, religious relics, historical documents, and coinage. The museum has the world’s biggest private collection of Auguste Rodin’s art, as well as the greatest collection of casts of his sculptures outside of France.
